Why do I get nauseous when I smell good cooking?

I recently got a job as a dishwasher for a local food restaurant. It's a high class restaurant that serves seafood and other exquisite foods. I hate seafood with a passion, so this might be the reason. Whenever I'm washing dishes or smell the smell of the cooking area, I get nauseous. Today was the most severe case, it started off with a headache than my stomach starting feel squeemish than I vomitted. Anyone know the reasoning for this?

I had a friend that had the same thing. It was several years before they figured out what it was...or at least how to treat her symptoms. I can't remember the name but I looked online and this sounds similar to what you are experiencing.

Are you ok otherwise or do you feel this way around food no matter where you are? If it is just at your job, you may be hypersensitive to the seafood smells like you suspect.
