Roasting a turkey on a spit in a BBQ with no rear burner?
I got a bit carried away today at Bunnings and bought a BBQ spit kit and it was only when researching recipes that I realised they were all talking about a rear burner on the BBQ... well, I dont have one of those lol. I only have the grill plates on the bottom. I was a bit naive assumed it would be fine as my BBQ has the grooves for the rotisserie to sit in.
Soooo will I still be able to roast my turkey in the BBQ if I turn the burners on and leave the lid down? It should be ok, shouldnt it?
You should be just fine. Just make sure you watch your heat and as the fat drips off the turkey you need to watch out for flame ups that may char your bird.
